Thief Tale is a Stealth Game where the player, impersonating a raccoon, will have to rescue his father, who has been kidnapped and imprisoned in a castle, by circumventing and overcoming guards.
Summary of contribution
This is my first group project done in the first year of game design academy.
I was the Lead Designer responsabile of the gameplay concept and Level design.

I also worked as a technical designer and programming support, projecting and unlocking  pipelines and helping the programmer with visual scripting.
The structure of the levels
I started by taking references from the settings and streets of medieval and 1800s London.

Then I created draft levels based on classic board games with checkers combined with level design patterns from classic stealth video games.

For the first level, I designed a very simple structure where the player could get past a guard simply by going through a side path.

For the second level, the player will have to get around a guard using decoy mechanics.

For the third level, the player will have to get past two guards using side routes and the decoy mechanic.

For the fourth level, the player will have to get past moving guards in very tight spaces.

In the end, for the fifth level, the player will have to retrieve keys guarded by the patrolling guards, which will allow him to open doors and passages that will lead him to rescue the protagonist's father.
